Plant Controller Clabecq - NLMK

NLMK Europe Plate, a part of NLMK Europe, manufactures a large spectrum of heavy plates and ingots. It has production capacity of 1.75 million tons of steel per year. NLMK Europe Plate division includes the following production facilities: NLMK Clabecq (Belgium), NLMK DanSteel (Denmark) and NLMK Verona (Italy). The high level of synergy between those three plants has resulted in offering a broad dimensional range of steels, from very narrow to very wide. NLMK Europe Plate also offers a range of extra services.

To support the business, NLMK Clabecq is looking for the

PLANT CONTROLLER CLABECQ

Together with the 2 people who report to you, you are responsible for all controlling activities: reporting, presentations, collecting & challenging information, forecasting, budgeting and cost monitoring.

Main responsibilities

  • Preparation management reports and presentations: monthly financial review, company performance, operating efficiency reports etc.

  • Timely reporting and communication with Group corporate team

  • Analysis of company actual result: industrial cost analysis, general expenses, profitability

  • Forecast preparation: accurate P&L, BS, direct and indirect cash flow forecasts

  • Budget: key responsible and owner for company budget process and follow up

  • Cost monitoring and follow up including set up cost controlling procedures, raise flag to CEO and Plant manager in case of budget deviations

  • Commercial controlling: analysis of business performance, order intake profitability, performance vs market indices, efficiency of global distribution network

  • Newly implemented SAP system: development of costing and profitability reports, support SAP testing and development processes

  • Support with data to external officials, e.g. data for antidumping process

  • Ad hoc: able to work with various non standard requests, translate into comprehensive tasks for the team

  • Drive company values: safety, people and team work, technological development.

Your profile

  • You hold a Master’s degree in Finance or Economics and have a minimum of 4 years’ relevant experience

  • Highly developed Excel and power point skills

  • Knowledge of SAP (FI/ CO/ BI) is a benefit

  • Good presentation skills: able to deliver clear & concise messages to the different stakeholders

  • Solid analytical capability. Seeing the significant elements in a situation, gathering relevant data, reaching sound conclusions, using data and experience

  • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to develop/maintain productive business relationships and cooperate in a multifunctional and multicultural environment

  • Solid communication skills: able to communicate at different levels in the organisation

  • Structured and well organized

  • Team player and an inspiring people manager

  • Result oriented, ownership (including delivering qualitative work within the deadlines)

  • Fluency in English is a must; very good French; Russian are advantage
